Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week you compile a list of ten books which coincide with that week’s theme. You can find everything you need to know about joining in here!
This week’s theme is ‘Most Anticipated Books Releasing In the First Half of 2022’, so I’m sharing the ten fifteen books I’m most looking forward to that are being published from January-June 2022!

Fire Becomes Her by Rosiee Thor: This political Jazz Age-inspired fantasy is on this list because it has multiple aroace characters, which is rep I very rarely see and would like to see a lot more of. 1 February 2022.
Travelers Along the Way by Aminah Mae Safi: This retelling of the Robin Hood legend moves the story from medieval England to medieval Jerusalem, and I am HERE FOR IT. 1 March 2022.
Hex by Jenni Fagan: This novella takes place in 16th century Scotland, where convicted witch Geillis Duncan tells the story of her life from her prison cell. Though harrowing, I find the history of Scotland’s witch trials fascinating. 3 March 2022.
The Bone Orchard by Sara A. Mueller: The plot of this novel is described as ‘a dying emperor charges his favourite concubine with solving his own murder’. Um, how could I not want to read that? 22 March 2022.
Wild and Wicked Things by Francesca May: Queer. Witches. I can’t wait for this one! 29 March 2022.

Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li: A heist novel about students stealing Chinese art from Western museums? Yes please, inject it into my veins. 5 April 2022
The Romantic Agenda by Claire Kann: A romance novel with an asexual protagonist? Yes please! 12 April 2022.
Fevered Star by Rebecca Roanhorse: I really enjoyed Black Sun, so I’m looking forward to this sequel! 19 April 2022.
Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel: I know nothing about the Ramayana, but this debut sounds right up my street. 26 April 2022.
Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher: I’ve enjoyed a lot of Kingfisher’s work in the past and her latest novel – with sisterhood, convents and witches – sounds so good. 26 April 2022.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry: I really enjoyed both Beach Read and You and Me on Vacation from Henry, so of course I want to read her next contemporary romance. 3 May 2022.
Siren Queen by Nghi Vo: I love Vo’s Singing Hills Cycle novellas and this novel sounds amazing; ever since I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo I’ve been keen to read more books set in early Hollywood. 10 May 2022.
A Mirror Mended by Alix E. Harrow: I had a lot of fun with A Spindle Splintered, so I’m looking forward to this sequel! 14 June 2022.
The Grief of Stones by Katherine Addison: It’s another novel set in the world of The Goblin Emperor, of course I want it. 14 June 2022.
Blood, Fire and Gold: The Story of Elizabeth I and Catherine de Medici by Estelle Paranque: I love my 16th century history, and both Elizabeth I and Catherine de Medici are women I find fascinating. 30 June 2022.
A bunch of these are among my most anticipated new releases as well! Great list!

Much as I *really* wanted to love it, I didn’t love Beach Read. That said, some of Emily’s other books do sound interesting, so… who knows! I may try another of hers. Hope you enjoy all of these and many things for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week.

Ooh, Hex immediately makes me think of Burial Rites, which I loved. Will check it out.

Almost all of these are new to me, and I’m trying hard not to look at them too closely because my TBR is toppling. Ha! This TTT prompt is so hard on my book shelves. 😉 Happy reading in 2022!

Portrait of A Thief was also on my list this week. Hex sounds really interesting, I don’t usually read novellas but that might be one I have to check out. I definitely don’t know enough about Scotland’s witch trials.

I haven’t heard of any of these, but a few caught my eye for sure! A Mirror Mended. I’ll have to check out the first one.

Travelers Along the Way sounds so cool but I don’t know if I’ll read it because I didn’t like the other classic remixes from this series so far. Ahhhh.

Oh no, that’s a shame! I haven’t tried any of them yet; I would like to read So Many Beginnings, but I DNF’d the last book I tried to read by Bethany C. Morrow so I might see if my library can get it.

Several of these are on my list, too! I’m looking forward to Siren Queen and A Mirror Mended especially. Portrait of a Thief is one I keep going back and forth about, but it really does sound like a fun romp. And I forgot about Fire Becomes Her! Thanks for the reminder, and happy reading!

Fire Becomes Her sounds amazing. I put Portrait of a Thief and Fevered Star on my list too. I’m hoping Siren Queen gets a UK release as I loved Empress of Salt and Fortune and would love to read more.
