Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week you compile a list of ten books which coincide with that week’s theme. You can find everything you need to know about joining in here!
This week’s theme is a cover freebie, so I thought I’d share ten books with you that have covers illustrated by one of my favourite illustrators, Chris Riddell!
Chris Riddell has written several of his own books, but he’s also illustrated for authors such as Neil Gaiman and J.K. Rowling, and his work is just beautiful. Whenever I see a novel that’s been illustrated by him, I’m immediately more tempted to pick it up.
OH my gosh yes. I love Chris Riddells art! It is so gorgeous and I love his covers.

Fun topic! I like that you singled out an artist for your spin. ๐ There are so many versions of classics like ‘Alice,’ but if it’s a story I like, even though I don’t read classics, I tend to collect multiple cover designs. ๐ Thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland last week!

He does seem to have a particular style. Most of the time I don’t even know who designs the covers.

It’s something I want to start paying closer attention to! There are so many beautiful illustrated covers out there and I don’t think the illustrators get enough love. ๐

Oh wow, excellent spin on the topic! I love Chris Riddell, but I only have Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book and The Sleeper and the Spindle illustrated by him, meaning – I could get more ๐ Lovely list, and always nice to find someone else appreciating book illustrators so much ๐

Oooh, I’ve seen that Graveyard Book cover, but i had no idea who the illustrator was. His style is very striking, and I really enjoy it. I’ve also seen that cover for How to Stop Time, but I would’ve never put the two together as being by the same artist. How neat! The Goth Girl cover is really cute, too. :3
Here’s my TTT post.

He’s such a talented illustrator! I love how he’s the kind of artist you recognise if you know his work, but he makes sure each project he does still has its own vibe so it wouldn’t be clear straight away that they’re all his illustrations. ๐

He’s just so talented! I saw him draw live at the Hay Festival last year and with just a few strokes of his pen he’d made a face. He’s so good!
