My Favourite 2019 Blogging Moments Tag

This tag was created by Laura @ The Book Corps and I was tagged by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Little Nook – thank you, E.!

RULES:

  1. All the answers must be about your blog posts
  2. Please link the original creator of the tag
  3. You don’t have to provide just one post for each question, you can provide as many as you want so long as they were written in 2019
  4. If you haven’t written a post that matches one of the questions, choose one that relates to it as close as possible
  5. Tag 5+ bloggers to they can share their accomplishments too! And make sure you read the posts they share!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK REVIEW?

I guess it says something about how salty I am that my favourite review is probably my 1 star review of Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier. It was very cathartic to write down everything that got under my skin in that book!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE DISCUSSION POST?

I think I’m most proud of my discussion about the representation of First Nations people and mythology in the horror genre. I enjoyed writing it, and it was something I’d been thinking about for a while. I am also proud of my discussion post on Taryn Duarte from The Folk of the Air trilogy, though.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FUN POST?

I loved sharing my unpopular SFF opinions. Then again, like I said, I love being salty.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK RECOMMENDATION POST?

I enjoyed writing my adult fantasy recommendations for YA fans post, and I’d like to do more like it in 2020!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK/BOOKISH PHOTO?

I’m trying to use Instagram more but still haven’t quite got into the swing of it yet, but I did like this photo I took of the contents of the September 2019 Fairyloot box!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ORIGINAL IDEA/BLOG POST?

I’m still really proud of my original tag, the Tudor Queens Book Tag. I love Tudor history, so getting to nerd out about the Tudors and books was a lot of fun.

WHAT’S YOUR ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE BLOG POST YOU WROTE THIS YEAR?

I think it’s probably the post I wrote about some of my favourite heroines who are mothers. I love reading books about motherhood, and I especially love reading books where the heroine is a mother who still has a life beyond being a mother, so I enjoyed writing that one a lot!

HAVE YOU REACHED ANY BLOGGING ACHIEVEMENTS THIS YEAR?

I have! I have over 200 followers which is crazy – thank you so much to everyone who’s followed my blog this year and left comments, it’s so appreciated – but I have to be honest and say that I’m pretty rubbish at keeping on top of those kinds of achievements.

giphy

I’ve now written over 300 posts on this blog since I moved over from Blogspot last year, so that’s pretty cool, but I’ve never been the kind of blogger who pays any attention to how many followers I have or how many people have been looking at my blog. This blog is for me and a place for me to share my thoughts and connect with other bloggers and readers who are happy to nerd out with me about fictional people.

I feel like that sounds really ungrateful, and I don’t mean it to. If you’re following my blog I am genuinely so grateful that you find what I have to say interesting enough to want to see more. If I happen to hit 300 followers in 2020 then I definitely want to do a giveaway or something to celebrate!

Thanks for tagging me! I don’t normally do tags but this seems like fun. And I don’t really pay attention to my amount of followers either. I find if you just forget about the numbers, you’ll be pleasantly surprised once you take a peek😁
