Emma @ The Terror of Knowing tagged me in the ‘I Should Have Read That Book’ Tag – thanks Emma! – so I’m here to do it today. This tag was originally created by Beth @ BooksNest.
A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
Two of my friends, Natalie @ A Sea Change and my non-blogging friend Elena, have recommended Genevieve Cogman’s The Invisibly Library to me, so it’s about time I read it! I know the second book is either set in Venice or set in a place inspired by Venice; considering how much I love Italy I need to read it just so I can read that book.
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up
I asked for a copy of The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett for Christmas and my parents very kindly got it for me. The only problem? I got it for Christmas 2010, so that book has been sat on my shelf for 8 years! I need to get to it.
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet
I really enjoyed The Girl From Everywhere, and yet I still haven’t read The Ship Beyond Time. Considering this is a duology it’s about time I got around to it and finished the series.
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read
The Three Musketeers just sounds like such a romp of an adventure, but I haven’t read it. In fact I don’t think I’ve read any French classics. I know Elena @ Elena Square Eyes recommends the audiobook, so I may try it that way!
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I just don’t think Maas is for me! I know a lot of people say that the second book is way better, but I shouldn’t have to read one book just to read a better book, y’know?
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet
I love the BBC adaptation of North and South but I still haven’t read the book by Elizabeth Gaskell. I do want to, though!
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
I love how much buzz Samantha Shannon’s The Priory of the Orange Tree has been getting all over social media. I do have a copy, I just haven’t cracked it open yet but I’m hoping to read it very soon!
OMG, you have to read Pillars of the Earth! I actually had to read it for a college class, and I loved it!

‘The Priory of the Orange Tree’! I bought this on Saturday but I know it’s going to sit on my shelf for a while before I take the plunge.

I really want to read it soon because it sounds AMAZING, but it’s probably going to be a week or so before I crack it open…

I’m trying to plan when would be a good time to start it, so I could read it without having to carry it around too much!

Ooh, cool tag. I might have to do this one. I want to read The Three Musketeers, too. I also have never read a French classic.
