Lauren @ Lauren and the Books has been hosting her Cosy Reading Nights for a couple of years now, and this evening she’s returning with 2018’s Christmas Cosy Reading Night!
If you’ve never heard of Cosy Reading Night, it’s simple! For three hours, you get cosy with some books and some snacks and read to your heart’s content. If it’s winter where you are, like it is here in the UK, then cosy might include getting under a blanket with a hot chocolate and your fluffiest socks. If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, however, it might include sitting outside in your garden and enjoying the sunshine. There’s no wrong way to participate!
For more information you can find Lauren’s video here.
I’ve participated a few times and always had a lovely time. This round will be taking place from 7pm-10pm GMT tonight, and you can take place wherever you are in the world – whether you join in at the same time or join in from 7pm-10pm in your time zone. Again, there are no strict rules!
I couldn’t resist taking part again this round, I need no excuse to cosy up with a book and now that the nights are so much darker it feels even cosier. Plus as I’m currently taking part in the Magical Readathon it’s the perfect opportunity to get some reading done.
I’d hoped to have at least one book on my Magical Readathon TBR under my belt by now, but naturally my time at home for Christmas has been busier than expected so far and I’ve also come down with a head cold so I’m doping myself up with paracetamol and ibuprofen – I refuse to be poorly for Christmas!
Anyway, this evening I’d like to finish Snowspelled by Stephanie Burgis, which I’m already 60% of the way through and shouldn’t take me long to finish, and then I’d like to make a start on Romancing the Werewolf by Gail Carriger. If I could finish both of them this evening, that’d be the best outcome!
