Queer Lit Readathon TBR

Hosted by Kathy @ Kathy Trithardt, Rogan @ Rogan Shannon and Adriana @ perpetualpages, the Queer Lit Readathon is a week-long reading challenge dedicated to stories with queer characters at their centre.

Somehow I’d missed this readathon, but it’s back for another round from 2-8 December and I’m going to try and take part!

Let’s be real I have no idea how much I’m going to read in a week, and with Christmas just around the corner I’m pretty busy trying to organise presents for friends and family, but I’m never going to miss an opportunity to read some queer books – especially when there are plenty on my shelves.

39533762The group read for this round of the readathon is Natasha Ngan’s Girls of Paper and Fire which I received in a recent Fairyloot box and I’ve been eager to read since Kathy @ Books & Munches’ review revealed that this is a novel with a love story between two women. I probably just haven’t been looking in the right places because I’d somehow missed that this is an LGBT+ novel! I’d’ve picked this book up so much sooner if I knew it was a sapphic story about two concubines of the same king falling in love. I’ve been craving a story like that for literally years.

Plus it’s Asian-inspired fantasy, and I’ve been wanting to read more Asian-inspired fantasy throughout 2018 and beyond.

Thankfully this readathon lets you cross off multiple prompts with one book, so with Girls and Paper and Fire I’ll be able to cross off Group Read; POC Author; #ownvoices; New (to me) Author and 5 Star Prediction. Hooray!

The other three books I’m going to try and cross off my TBR are:
